David Kauffman is a songwriter, recording artist, retreat facilitator, and filmmaker who grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He and his wife Missy and their two daughters live in San Antonio, Texas, and founded Good for the Soul Music, a record company and print publisher whose mission is to create “song and story for healing and hope on stage and screen.” His musical career spans more than 30 years and has taken him across the nation and the world, singing over 1500 concerts and missions in large and small venues as far away as Paris, France, where he sang for Pope John Paul II and 1.5 million pilgrims at World Youth Day.
David has produced eight records of original music, including liturgical favorites like “Behold and Be Still” along with chart topping pop release “Simple Truth.” He created the COJO — Companion on the Journey, a six-CD series of songs and short talks centered on various milestones in life; his music is often used on ACTS retreats and sung in Sunday liturgies throughout the U.S. and abroad. In 2011 David, along with writing partner William Gokelman, wrote the award-winning Mass setting Mass of Renewal, which is used in over 2000 churches nationwide. In 2014, David released his first film on the big screen: The One I Wrote for You. David co-produced the film and wrote all 14 songs in the film.
