In 2025 Christ the King parish is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its church facility at 1 McCurdy Road, which was dedicated on November 20, 2005.

Over these past two decades, our parish has celebrated Mass in the church every day (even during the pandemic!); we have witnessed numerous baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, weddings, and funerals; we have educated our youth and our adults with faith formation classes; the church has hosted choral concerts and recitals; and Our Lady of Good Counsel Hall has welcomed community events like the VFW dinners and Senior Center lunches, as well as our annual Harvest Festival.

Such constant activity has taken its toll on the bricks-and-mortar of our facility, and we are now faced with a number of pressing maintenance and repair issues that need to be addressed, both at the church/hall/offices and at the rectory, an historic 1820s structure.

For this reason, Christ the King parish has launched a capital campaign to build up a fund for these maintenance and repair projects. Sustaining Our Legacy: Nurturing Our Community of Faith seeks to raise $750,000 which will be used specifically for these projects — with the ultimate objective of protecting our investment in this property, and ensuring that Christ the King Church will be able to accommodate our parish family for years to come.

Please note that this capital campaign has been exempted from the usual diocesan cathedraticum — the 10% tax that our parish pays to the Norwich diocese on all contributions we receive. So all contributions go into the maintenance fund. Please be sure to write "Sustaining our Legacy" in the memo area of your check, and/or fill out a pledge commitment card. If giving/pledging online through ParishSoft Giving, please be sure to choose the Sustaining Our Legacy campaign to direct your contribution.

Registered parishioners will be receiving a packet in the mail with an informational brochure and commitment card. Please read the brochure and prayerfully consider how you and your family can support this effort! We need the participation of every family to meet our goal.   (If you do not receive this packet, we may not have your correct address. Please check with the office to correct that.)

If you did not receive a packet in your mail, the brochure is available here to read or download, or you may pick up a packet at the church office.
